Augmented Reality App Concept Design
Biva is a platform for children to take their imaginary friends, translate them into a mobile device, and then interact with them using augmented reality. This app is programmed to turn scanned drawings into live animated characters that interact with the real environment and the user, or children can build their friends directly in the app.
This app is a platform for children to take their imaginary friends, translate them into a mobile device, and then interact with them using augmented reality. It cultivates imagination and creative thinking while still utilizing technology to fully develop ideas. Children can specify who the characters are, what they look like, and how they move, act, and speak. These companions spring to life and interact with a real environment and can have set locations that users want to interact with them in. By sending characters to friends and family, children can share their creations and cultivate imagination with those around them.
Biva is programmed to turn scanned drawings and assembled, pre-designed character parts into animated live characters. Once a location for a character is set, the app will recognize it in Live Mode and automatically bring that character into play. Bivas move about freely within 150 feet of the mobile device. The camera can pan around the space while a Biva remains in a specific area. If a device is moving, the Biva will follow. Users can choose personality characteristics to further customize their companion.
